Meet Dr. John Rhodes Farnham

Originally from McComb, Mississippi, John Rhodes “J.R.” Farnham, D.M.D., M.D. attained his undergraduate education at Mississippi College, earning a Bachelor of Science degree. He then attended the University of Mississippi School of Dentistry.

Upon graduation from dental school, Dr. Farnham completed medical school at the University of Alabama at Birmingham earning his M.D. He then completed an internship in general surgery and anesthesia followed by a residency in oral and maxillofacial surgery, also at Univ. of Alabama-Birmingham, serving as chief resident during his final year of training.

Dr. Farnham has extensive training in oral and facial surgery including dentoalveolar surgery, dental implantology, corrective jaw surgery, facial trauma/reconstruction, facial cosmetic surgery, head and neck pathology, and anesthesia.

He is a member of the American Association of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons, the Alabama Society of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons, and the McCallum Society of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons. When not in surgery, Dr. Farnham enjoys spending time with his wife and children, especially in the outdoors.  He and his wife Jenny have three children, John Michael, Julianne, and Jameson.
